Ágrip (Enska)
The 2D model of the chiral magnet is rich from the point of view of the existing diversity of localized magnetic solitons – skyrmions. Their static and dynamic properties have been under intensive study for a few last decades. However, the recently found new types of skyrmions such as skyrmion bags and skyrmions with chiral kinks indicate that our understanding of all properties of magnetic solitons in chiral magnets is not complete, and many things still have to be studied. In my talk, I focus mainly on the dynamics of these skyrmions induced by the Zhang-Li spin-transfer torque. The uniform motion of skyrmions caused by such torque displays an intricate dependency on the skyrmions' topological charge and shape. In our recent publication, we reveal surprising patterns in the velocity distribution for different skyrmions obtained in a numerical experiment based on the simulations with the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation. We explain observed velocity dependencies through the geometric analysis of Thiele's equation. Our results provide a universal geometrical understanding of the steady motion of skyrmions and skyrmion Hall angle on the topological charge, shape, and orientation of the skyrmions. The generality of our approach suggests the validity of our results for exchange-frustrated magnets, bubble materials, and other magnetic systems.
