Í fyrirlestrinum er fjallað um fólksflutninga og nýja afríska diasporu út frá verkum eþíópísku og erítreísku listamannanna Wosene Kosrof, Salem Mekuria, Dawit Petros, Elsa Yakob og Yegizaw Michael. Hreyfanleiki er settur í samhengi við tungumál, þverþjóðlegan nútíma og kínverska flutningatækni í Addis Ababa. Fyrirlesturinn kynnir væntanlega bók, gefna út af Africa World Press undir titlinum ‘Contemporary Artists from the Horn of Africa: Encounters Beyond Borders.’ Sýning um þetta efni var sett upp árið 2016.
Dr. Andrea Frohne er aðstoðarprófessor í afrískri listasögu við Ohio Háskóla og forstöðumaður School of Interdisciplinary Arts. Meðal verka hennar eru ‘The African Burial Ground in New York City: Memory, Spirituality, and Space’ (2015) og ‘At the Crossroads: Readings of the Postcolonial and the Global in African Literature and Visual Art’ ásamt Ghirmai Negash and Samuel Zadi (2014).
