Caterina Poggi, aðjunkt í ítölsku við Mála- og menningardeild Háskóla Íslands, flytur erindi sem nefnist „CLILing in Iceland: possibility or chimera?“

Boðið er upp á kaffi og kleinur í lok dagskrár.

Það eru Vigdísarstofnun og STÍL (Samtök tungumálakennara) sem bjóða upp á vinnustofur fyrir starfandi tungumálakennara.

Um erindið:

CLIL is the acronym for Content and Language Integrated Learning, “a dual-focused educational approach in which an additional language is used for learning and teaching of both content and language”. CLIL is a widely used term and can be defined as an “umbrella term covering a dozen or more educational approaches (e.g., immersion, bilingual education, [...] and enriched language programmes” (Mehisto et al., 2008).

CLIL methodology has yet to be widespread in Iceland. The goal of this workshop is to allow participants to familiarize themselves with CLIL and have a hands-on experience. The practical focus is on CLIL teaching strategies and activities. We will answer questions like:

What is CLIL? I am already doing CLIL or do I know of any CLIL experience in Iceland? If not, could I implement it in my practice?

Materials will be provided by the facilitator of the workshop. Participants will have the opportunity to try fun CLIL activities that can be implemented in their daily teaching.
